I already knew for many years how the Old Testament was compiled (using the Babylonian Enuma Elish and it's original source from the Sumerians), but Jesus and the New Testament remained a mystery to me, until today.
Here is the full source code of Jesus and the New Testament, and it's all Open Source and Free:

It seems religion has been now completely disassembled and there is no mystery anymore. Way to go science!

| | Your analogy of the Bible (NT/OT) as the product of iterations of source code is the standard evolutionary view for literature. Similar to biological evolution, this theory argues that the Bible in its present form is the product of incremental iterative changes over time. This view is not new and is the default position of naturalists who presuppose that all existence is the product of natural impersonal forces. The main question is does this view comport to reality. Evidence, such as previous versions of the "source code" that compellingly demonstrate evolution, must be presented. All evidence is subject to interpretation. Unfortunately, for this theory, the evidence presented and the interpretation that this is in some form "beta code" is not compelling. However, to one who has a strong pre-commitment and desire for the Bible to be proven false (i.e. went through many betas before 1.0), you will likely accept all sorts of interpretations regardless of their merit. So, in the end, its not surprising that one's conclusions pretty much match their original presuppositions. Faith is required on both sides of this debate it seems.
